Spring Break? Spring Grind.

The Riverdale Rams athletic department had a packed spring break with scheduled games for boys/girls track, softball, and baseball. To kick off the week, the varsity softball girls came out on top with a 15-2 win against Fulton on Monday, March 14th. Riding the winners high, the girls came out the very next day with a 13-1 win against West Carroll. To finish off the week, the girls headed out to Jacksonville for the weekend. The rams played hard all weekend through pouring rain. After four long games, the Rams won two with a “cycle” performed by junior, Aliva Bark, in the third game. A quote from senior, Jordan Bull-Welch, “This tournament really highlighted our offensive abilities, and cohesive teamwork!” March 14th was a busy day for the rams. The boys track team also competed. The team came away with wins by Tommy Murray, Landis Musser, Peyton Sand, Luke Wiklund, and Will Leighty that qualified them for indoor state. (Murry- the 1600/the 3200, Musser- the 800/the 1600, Sand- the 3200, Wiklund- long jump and Leighty- triple jump). On Monday, March 15th, the boys baseball team played Fulton with a 3-1 win. On Friday, March 18th, Makenna Bode also qualified for state. She moved on for the 400. Sophomore, Mattea Wuest, commented on the meet. “Everyone started off so strong, I’m really excited for outdoor season and seeing how everyone improves! The hard work, and dedication is really paying off, and I’m hopeful for the team's future!”
