Soccer Stars Recognized
The Riverdale High school soccer team celebrated their hard work this season by holding a banquet on November 4, 2021. The banquet was especially impactful to the seniors, Zach Duke, Noah Loy, Drew Watson, and Nolan Ziegler, who were all honored on Thursday. This fall season, the team led with two ties and four wins, and a trip to the first round of regionals. Seniors, Drew Watson and Zach Duke, won the 2nd team All-Conference. Additionally, Patrick Gannon and Nolan Ziegler received honorable mention. On Thursday, many awards were given out to highlight certain players' hard work and skills. Zach Duke received Best Offensive Player of the year, and Nolan Zigler won Best Defensive Player. Noah Loy was named the Most Improved, and Aiden Sensabaugh was given Best New Player. For the J.V. players, Christan Romani won All-around and Gabe Sallows was gifted Best Defense. Finally, Drew Watson won the Team Spirit and Leadership award. A quote from senior Drew Watson was given, βIt was a great season and was a lot of fun. It was satisfying to see the whole season wrapped up.
