Breaking History One Step at a Time

On November 6th, 2021, our Riverdale cross country team traveled to Detwiler Park in Peoria to attend their first ever state meet. They did amazing and ended up placing 11th overall. Two runners placed All-State to become the 3rd and 4th runners to achieve this goal in Riverdale history. Landis Musser (11) placed 24th, and Tommy Murray (11) finished in 9th. Tommy Murray commented, “Although I didn’t PR, I’m happy with my race and proud of how far the team has come.” The Riverdale cross country team all finished with remarkable times and placed well. Peyton Sand (11) finished 108th, Cam Overton (12) placed 149th, Caden Ludin (12) ended 169th, Cael Hinde (10) placed 208th, and Mitch Hasenour (11) finished 229th. After the meet, the cross country caption, Caden Ludin quoted, “Two years ago in 2019, I would have never expected us to be where we are now. I am so very proud of everyone and I’m going to miss them. It was an honor to be a captain.” The Riverdale School District and community are proud of the cross country team’s performance. We can’t wait to see the Riverdale Rams cross country team succeed next year!
