Riverdale Golf Team Wins Regionals!

The Riverdale Golf Team placed first at the IHSA Boys’ Class 1A regional on September 27, 2023. The Regional meet took place at Byron Hills Golf Course in Port Byron Illinois. The Riverdale team placed first with an overall score of 298 strokes. The Rams competed against various schools including Fulton and Bureau Valley. Placing second was Fulton, with a score of 311, and third place was Bureau Valley with a score of 328. Par for the course was 71 strokes. Top scorers from Riverdale’s team were Aidan Dorathy, Mason Smyser, Blake Sutton, Braden Janicki, Dean Wainwright and Ayden Swift. Aidan Dorathy (Junior) had a score of 2 under par, Mason Smyser (Sophomore) scored one under par, and Blake Sutton (Sophomore) had a score of 77. The Riverdale Golf Team outdid themselves at regionals and the Riverdale community couldn’t be prouder! On October 2, 2023 the golf team will compete at the IHSA Boys’ Class 1A golf sectional at Fyre Lake Golf Club in Sherrard!
