Girls Basketball Senior Night

by: Alaina Heim

On Monday, February 6th, the Riverdale girls basketball team played in their senior night game against Erie Prophetstown. This year there were three senior players, Crystal Craigmiles, Erin Caves, and Kayleigh Hartson. Although it was not the outcome they wanted, losing to Erie Prophetstown 39 to 25, Crystal Craigmiles stated that β€œThe love and support was amazing. We loved having a crowd for our last home game. We needed to control the controllables. We play them again on Saturday to advance to regionals. Playing with these girls has been amazing.” The seniors were announced in between the JV game and the varsity game. Along with the basketball girls, the Senior cheerleaders and Robotic team members were also announced. These seniors included Mia Housenga, Brooke Porter, Meadow Millard, and McKayla Houzenga for cheer and Parker Wendl, Campbell Brock, and Nicholas Gray for Robotics. The Cheerleaders had their senior routine at the halftime of the varsity game, and taking the spotlight were the seniors of the cheer team. It was a great night to celebrate senior students and their accomplishments.
