Finishing Off the Race

The Riverdale High School cross country team finished off their season with regionals, sectionals, and State. Starting with regionals which occurred on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Bureau Valley Junior High School. Both boys and girls took home the trophy for first place. For the boys, this is their third title in a row. On the other hand, girls won regionals for the first time ever. On the girls' side, placing were: Jillian Murray (11th), Makenna Bode (13th), Mattea Wuest (16th), Ava Phelps (29th), Teagan Mcginty (30th), and Alexa Hugart (31st). For the boys: Braeden Bode (1st), Andy Murray (8th), Cael Hinde (9th), Tyler Lockaby (11th), Gage Gaulrapp (17th), and Conner Musser (25th).

Next, the girls finished off their season at sectionals on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Oregon Park West. The girls placed 8th overall. Placing for the Rams were: Jillian Murray (22nd), Mattea Wuest (39th), and Makenna Bode (40th). The boys continued their season by placing 4th overall. Placing were: Braeden Bode (5th), Tyler Lockaby (24th), Cael Hinde (25th), and Andy Murray (36th). The boys then finished their season at State on Saturday, November 4th, 2023, at Detweiller Park. They finished in 20th place overall. Both teams had an outstanding season.
