Annual Interact Blood Drive

By: Avery Burbridge

On Thursday, October 13th, 2022, Riverdale High School Interact held their annual blood drive in the library during school. It was very exciting to see a good amount of donors come in to donate their blood! Within the 33 donors, there were 9 first time blood donors. All together, the donors collected 34 units and helped save the lives of up to 102 people! All of the blood that was donated on Thursday will be going to different hospitals in the area, making sure they have enough blood on hand. Riverdale was able to earn a Life Savings in the amount of $284 with all of the donations! Life Savings is an organization that gives organizations a certain amount of money depending on how many units of blood are received. The Interact Board made the decision to donate to a local business, Ann’s Helping Hands to make Thanksgiving Baskets with the money made. The Blood Drive was an all around success from blood donations, to local businesses!
