Wrestlers Win Big

In the last two weeks, the Riverdale wrestling team has reached several accomplishments as a team and as individuals. On Friday, January 21st, at the Bob Mitton Invite in Orion, Collin Altensy recorded his 100th win. In addition, Collin placed first in the tournament and earned “Outstanding Wrestler” for the upper weights. Brock Smith is another wrestler achieving great things recently. On Tuesday, January 25th, at the last home dual meet of the season, Brock recorded his 100th win as well. Brock also broke two different school records at Tuesday’s meet. He set a new single season record; beating Jonathan Gosa’s record of 123 2005. Brock also broke Joel Stockell’s season match points record set in 1993. Both wrestlers, as well as the rest of the team, are looking forward to what the post season has to offer. They will be competing at Sectionals in February.
