Welcome Back Rams

Riverdale High School students sit together in the stands to support the other teams in their scrimmage. It was a beautiful night to be outside and watch some football and soccer!

Welcome back, Riverdale! Students, teachers, and staff are excited to be back and are ready for another great year! To kickoff the school year, Riverdale High School students, families, and community members attended the annual Back to School Bash. The Back to School Bash was held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at Riverdale High School. This event is an opportunity for fall sports teams to give a preview of their season to the community, as well as a chance to recognize academic achievement from the previous school year.

As always, the event kicked off with the school song. This included performances from the pep band and cheer squad. Following the school song, the cheer squad performed their first dance of the year. Later in the evening, the marching band gave the audience a preview of this year’s halftime show, titled, “Y2K.” The volleyball, soccer, and football teams also got the opportunity to scrimmage and showcase their skills at the Back to School Bash.

In between the athletic portion of the bash, Riverdale High School principal, Mr. Stewart took time to recognize students for their academic achievements. Almost every student and athlete were recognized for some level of academic excellence. Whether it was IHSA Scholastic Achievement, Three Rivers Academic All-Conference, or GPA Recognition, Riverdale administration was proud to hand out so many awards.

The Back to School Bash was a prime example of the student involvement, sports participation, and academic excellence at Riverdale. In addition, it was a great way for students and community members to get excited about the upcoming year!
