Riverdale Volleyball Program Spikes Down the Golden Eagles

On Tuesday, August 22nd, all three Riverdale Volleyball levels won against the Mercer County Golden Eagles at Mercer County High School. This was the first game of the year for the Rams, showing off what’s in store for them this season. The Fresh-Soph team won in two out of three sets, as well as the JV team. The varsity girls went into three sets, losing the first set 22-25 but winning the match 25-19, and 25-20 in the next two sets. Out of all the matches on Tuesday night, the Varsity match was definitely the most exciting. During their game, the atmosphere in the gym was unbelievable! All three levels showed how hard they worked in the preseason by showing high energy, and putting in a lot of effort. “I thought we played really well for our first game, especially since we were not the home team,” says senior, Carrieanne Hungate, “We set a good standard for the season and competed as a team.”
