On Tuesday, October 5th, the Riverdale Volleyball program headed down to Sherrard. Both teams were decked out in pink in honor of breast cancer awareness night. Money was raised from the numerous raffle baskets and homemade baked goods that were for sale. Before the varsity game, the stands took a moment of silence in honor of all who had been affected by breast cancer. All teams ended up with a loss for the night but still fought hard. The freshmen started with scores of 17-25 and 10-25. The sophomores followed with scores of 26-24, 13-25, and 9-15. Varsity fell with scores of 18-25 and 19-25. When asked how the game went senior, Sarah Prigge responded with “We didn’t play the best, however we put up a good fight.” She finished out the night leading with eight kills. With the Ram’s season soon coming to a close, make sure to catch their next home game on Thursday, October 14th against Erie-Prophetstown.
