Baby, You’re a Firework - Cheerleaders Perform at Volleyball
On Thursday, October 7th our future Riverdale High School cheerleaders performed at the volleyball game. The volleyball team played Orion High School. With the freshman and sophomore teams both winning in three sets. Unfortunately our varsity team lost against Orion. The high school cheerleading squad led young cheerleaders in some cheers and dances throughout the night. The young cheerleaders' ages ranged from Pre-K to fifth grade.
The first performance happened after the finish of the freshman game and included the Pre-K to second grade girls. They performed multiple cheers and a choreographed dance routine to Ke$ha’s “Tik-Tok”. The second performance came from the older girls ages third to fifth grade. They also performed multiple cheers and a choreographed dance routine to Katy Perry’s “Firework”. The juniors choreographed the two dance routines for the little girls. The entire cheer team, coached by Mrs. Arnold, was there to help the girls through their performances. Sophomore Peyton Hemm says, “It was a stressful preparation, but the performance went smoothly. The kids did amazing.”
