This week, the Lady Rams Volleyball team went up against Monmouth-Roseville on August 29th. They went into it knowing that Monmouth would be a big competitor and they would have to work hard to win. The freshmen won in two games with the score 25-20 and 25-14 in the second match. They were able to play everyone on the team at one point. All the girls had great energy and supported their team. The JV girls also won in two games. It was close at the end of the second match, but they pulled through and came out on top with a score of 25-15 in the first match and 25-23 in the second match.

The Varsity had bigger competition that they had to be ready for. At the start of the game, the Rams kept up with them , and there were some really long rallies and good plays. However, the first match ended with the score 20-25. The team made sure to not get down just because the first game was a loss. It started off with the team playing scared at first. The score was 9-21, Breckin DeLaRosa went back to serve, and she got a few aces in the beginning which brought the energy back up. The team started playing long, good rallies and made sure to not worry about the score, but focus on the next play. By the time Breckin lost her serving streak the score was 17-22. The girls did not give up, they got the point right back and then kept fighting. They ended up winning with the score of 26-24! The energy was amazing and all of the fans were cheering loudly, but the game wasn’t over. There was still another match to 25 to win. They stuck with it the whole time and the focus was to win, but the girls were too worried about winning and not having fun with it. The third match unfortunately ended in a loss with the score of 17-25. “ We will be ready to beat them on our home court in a few weeks.” says Varsity Coach, Dawn Temple.

On Thursday the 31st, The Lady Rams played at Morrison. They had to be ready for anything to happen. They could not assume they would win, but the girls still had to fight for it. The freshmen team won in two sets with the scores of 25-19 for both the first and second match. The JV also won in two sets with the scores of 25-21 and 25-19. This made both the freshmen and JV teams undefeated for the season. The Varsity game started out really well, all were excited to have their first conference game, but knew that meant they had to play hard for a win. The girls won the first game with the score of 25-21. During the second match the team lost some of their energy and Morrison took the lead at the end with the score of 23-25. The girls had to go into it with a positive attitude and not worry about the last game. They had to fight for every point, but it was worth it when the girls ended the game with an overall win with the score of 25-11 in the third match. All levels of the Volleyball team were happy to start the conference game with an overall win.
