Starting off with a Successful Season
The Riverdale Golf team has played exceptionally well so far this season; with varsity at 15-1. At their most recent meet, the Titan Invitational hosted by Monmouth-Roseville High School, the golf team beat Sherrard and Rockridge with a score of 333. At the same meet, senior James Moorhusen came in 4th place as an individual and seniors Sam Willems and Ashton Sutton tied for 10th. The JV team is also doing excellent this season, winning six of their total eight dual meets this season.
Assistant coach, Jason Dennhardt, says the team is looking forward to this year’s postseason, as they get to host the conference meet on September 21st at Byron Hills Golf Course, as well as the IHSA regionals on September 29th. When asked what his favorite part of the season is, Coach responds, “My favorite part of the season is watching the players learn about themselves and how to overcome adversity to prepare them for life outside of Riverdale and outside of golf.” Senior James Mourhuesen was also asked about his thoughts on the season. “We're all very pleased with our start to the season, and we are very much looking forward to continuous improvement as the season progresses,” he says.
