Running Through the Finish Line

Cross Country ran in the Conference meet, on September 26th, in Kewanee. The boys won their third consecutive Conference title. Placing for the boys were: Breaden Bode (2nd), Andy Murray (5th), Cael Hinde (6th), Tyler Lockaby (7th), and Gage Gulrapp (17th). The girls placed 3rd and placing for the girls were: Jilly Murray (12th), Makenna Bode (13th), Mattea Wuest (16th), Teagan McGinty (28th), and Alexa Hugart (32nd). The next meet the Cross Country team ran was on the Border Wars, on Saturday September 30th, at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island. The boys placed second, behind Rock Island. Placing for the boys were: Braeden Bode (2nd), Andy Murray (8th), Cael Hinde (10th), Tyler Lockaby (11th), and Gage Gaulrapp (27th). The girls placed fifth overall, running against some big schools. Placing for the girls were: Mattea Wuest (14th), Jilly Murray (19th), Alexa Hugart (30th), Teagan McGinty (31st), and Makenna Bode (35th). The final meet of the week was on Tuesday, October 3rd, in Erie. The boys placed first at the meet. Medaling for the boys were: Braeden Bode (2nd), Cael Hinde (5th), Andy Murray (6th), and Tyler Lockaby (7th). The girls placed 2nd, behind Erie/ Prophetstown by four points, at the meet. Medaling for the girls were: Mattea Wuest (2nd), Jilly Murray (6th), and Makenna Bode (8th). Both teams have been working hard and are excited for the rest of the season. The next meet is in Peoria on October 14th.
