Rams Soccer off to a Good Start

Over the past few weeks, Riverdale’s Varsity Soccer Team has had many impressive accomplishments and games. The Rams have won three of their last five games, including wins over Schaumburg Christian, DePue/Hall, and Princeton. They played Schaumburg Christian on Saturday, August 26th at 2:00 p.m. in Oregon and won 4-1. On Saturday, September 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverdale Athletic Field, the JV soccer team played DePue. Varsity played at 1:00 p.m. and won 5-0. . The Varsity team’s most recent win was a 6-3 shootout on Tuesday, September 5th, in Princeton. The JV tied their game 2-2 against the Tigers.
During their shutout against DePue/Hall, a new school record was set by junior Aiden Sensabaugh. Sensabaugh set a new school mark for goals in a career with 37, replacing the previous record from 2003.
Against Princeton, multiple Rams had excellent performances on the field. Scoring goals were Brody Clark, junior, with two, Aiden Sensabaugh with one, and senior, Jaydon Markle, recorded a hat trick with three goals. Assisting was Sensabaugh with 3 and Clark with 2.
The varsity soccer team’s record is now 4-5 overall and 2-1 in TRAC conference play. Their next game is Wednesday, September 13th in Kewanee.
