IHSA Band Competition

On Friday, April 8th, Riverdale High School band competed in a band competition at Forreston High School in Forreston, Illinois. They scored all twos, with the highest they could get being a one. This is the highest that the band has ever scored in the IHSA competition. Sophomore Maggie Kelley says, “We played really well and got a great score!” They performed three concert pieces including “Bryce Canyon Overture,” “Air for Band,” and “Under the Rice Moon.” Mr. Reece said, “I was very proud of the band kids and their performance since 2019, so it was nice to get back to the concert band routine and have that as part of our season.” This is the last event that the band will play at this year. However, the band will perform again at the Betty Plumb Auditorium at the middle school on April 19th.
