Homecoming Week

This week Riverdale High School will be celebrating Homecoming. The homecoming court representatives are Cael Hinde, Jake Willems, Carter Deines, Keagan Hohenadel, Avery Burbridge, RyaLynn Grant, Izzy Tegeler, and Carrieanne Hungate. The winners will be crowned at coordination on Thursday night.

The theme for homecoming this year is “Once Upon a Homecoming,” planned by the high school student council. On Monday, the spirit day theme is Ken & Barbie. Students should dress in either beach/western for Ken or pink/an occupation for Barbie. Monday night, there is a JV football game at 5:30 p.m. and a field goal-kicking contest at halftime. On Tuesday, the spirit day theme is Soccer Moms & BBQ Dads. A home volleyball game will be played with Fresh/Soph playing at 5:00 p.m., JV at 6:00 p.m., and Varsity at 7:00 p.m. In between the games, there will be a “chuck-a-duck” contest. On Wednesday, the Spirit theme is Blank Storybook. Students should wear a plain white T-shirt so that it can be signed throughout the school day. On Thursday, the theme is Famous Friends. Students should dress up in group character costumes. After school on Thursday, there are a number of events to attend. The coronation will be held at 6:00 p.m., powderpuff volleyball will start at 6:30 p.m., powderpuff football at 7:30 p.m., there will be a Cheerleading performance at 8:00 p.m., and fireworks to end the evening. Lastly, Friday's theme will be Black & Gold. An hour early-out schedule will be run and the parade will start at 3:30 p.m. on Main Street in Port Byron. The Varsity Soccer game will be at 5:00 p.m. and the Varsity Football game will follow at 7:30 p.m.
