This week, Riverdales High school Boys and Girls Basketball teams both had games.   The boys played on Tuesday, January 17th, at Monmouth Roseville High School. The final score was 58-52 points with Riverdale taking the loss. Player Ayden Swift says, “The team brought some good energy and there was a lot of hustling. I am excited to see what the rest of the season brings!” Varsity girls basketball played an away game on Monday, January 16th at Alleman. Despite playing hard, the girls unfortunately lost with the final score being 52-26. Senior Crystal Craigmiles states, “We knew the opponents were out for a rough game as Coach Hatch was the former coach. As a team, we controlled what was able to be controlled, talked on defense, but not many players went in.” The varsity girls had their second game last week at Rockridge High School on Thursday, January 19th. Against Rockridge, the Riverdale girls lost 34-31. Junior, Carrianne Hungate, talks about the Thursday game. “We played good defense and it was a close game up until the very end.” Even though Riverdale took three losses this week, they are planning on working hard and making a comeback in the weeks to come.
