Riverdale High School Wellness Day

Wellness Day is one of the best things, among many others, about Riverdale High School. This year, it took place on Friday, October 18th at Riverdale High School. Friday was a half day and on that day, students were able to come to school and be busy with the activities that took place. Each student filled out a form earlier in the week, picking what activities they wanted to participate in. Throughout the day students moved to 5 different 35 minute sessions. Some possible activities were baking cookies, watching a movie, coloring, zumba class, and many more. Wellness Day is a day for students to relax and do fun activities with their friends. This day is planned by the counselors at Riverdale High School, Caytie Arnold and Jennifer Robinson. It is dedicated to building student morale, prioritizing mental health, and fostering a sense of community between students, peers, and staff. Senior, Brie DeBlaey said, “I think Wellness Day is an amazing idea and all schools should have something like it; being able to come to school and relax is a relief all students need.”
