Rams At Regionals!

On October 29th the Riverdale Varsity Volleyball Team took on Mercer County in the Regional Semi-Final game. The Rams won in two sets, the first score was 25-19, and the second was 25-12. These players: sophomore, Cayleigh Hungate, with nine kills, senior, Breckin Delarosa, with six aces, and senior, Logan Mitton, with three blocks, led the team in each category. This win led the Rams to the Regional Championship against Orion on October 31st. The Rams unfortunately ended up losing 1-2. They lost the first set with a close score of 20-25, then won the second set 27-25, but they ultimately fell short in the third set and lost 10-25. Sophomores, Preslie Willemkens, with 12 kills, Cayleigh Hungate, with four aces, and junior, Molly Skahill with two blocks, led their team in each category. When asked about how she felt the season went Junior Kamryn Kruger responded “The volleyball season went really well. There are things we needed to improve on but the environment was great and I’m grateful for all the opportunities our team got. I will miss the seniors but I’m looking forward to the future and excited for what we can do next year.
