Play Hard, Cheer Loud

The Riverdale boys basketball season has been off to a strong start. On Friday, January 13th, the boys played Erie-Prophetstown. The game was back and forth between the two teams the entire time, keeping people on the edge of their seats. However, Riverdale was able to win the nail biting game. This game was also special because Alumni Night was celebrated. Anyone in the stands who used to play basketball for Riverdale, played in the band for Riverdale, or had graduated from Riverdale was able to stand up and be recognized. The game and win was extra special since so many alumni were in the stands. The boys look forward to continuing their season and are hoping for a strong finish as the season comes to an end.

The cheerleaders have been cheering for the boys at all basketball games, but also attended a cheer competition on Sunday, January 8th. The cheerleaders had been working hard to perfect their stunts and dance routines and were excited to show off their skills during the competition. Overall everyone was very happy with how the performance went and are excited for Sectionals on January 28th.
