Get inspired! Simple words with a huge impact.
8th grade students at Riverdale Middle School were simply inspired on December 7th when they attended the JA Inspire field trip at the Bend EXPO in East Moline. Junior Achievement of the Heartland hosted this hands-on, interactive career fair for students across the Quad Cities. The opportunity allowed students to connect with almost sixty different local businesses, participate in diverse activities, often using actual equipment or tools the business employees use on the job, and explore what inspires them and their future. Students received in-class sessions prior to attending so they were prepared to self-identify their own career interests, practice soft skills, and identify career paths. This is just the beginning of the 8th graders’ journeys to career readiness. They will be actively involved in a number of experiences throughout the school year, making them prepared to follow the path that inspires them in high school and beyond.
