8th Grade: Ready For The Future

As we wrapped up the school year, the 8th grade finished their final career tour/shadow days.  They spent time at the Riverdale Elementary School, TPC Deere Run, Modern Woodmen Park, Morrison Tech, and Capri College exploring careers in sports, teaching, engineering technology, and cosmetology.  Thank you to all of our hosts for our career tours this semester.  Our 8th graders are excited about the many opportunities available to them.

In addition, our 8th Grade Interview Day was held on May 5th, and it concluded a two week unit on career readiness.  Students learned how to complete job applications, write a resume, and interview for a job. This process also included students writing down their career aspirations, identifying career paths, and setting goals for high school.  We would like to thank our community partners and interviewers for May 5th:  Tricia Barrett, Scott Beeler, Chris Bode, Becky Butterfield, Kelley Doty, Ron Jacobs, Kevin Mahraun, Lisa Petersen, and Ben Secker.

Congrats to the 8th grade class on all you have achieved.  We look forward to all your future has to offer.  We know you are ready!
